The Crime Prevention Office is under the general supervision of the Operations Division Commander (Captain Celeste Mussey | 210.567.2802). It is the policy of the UT Police to take a proactive approach to the prevention of crime. This is accomplished by educating and raising the crime risk awareness of all patients, visitors, students, and employees within the University community.
The Crime Prevention Office coordinates its efforts by working with other components within the Police Department to establish a wide and consistent effort in the prevention of crime. The services listed in the column to the left above the line are among many provided by the Crime Prevention Officer.
Crime Prevention - A Shared Responsibility…
The UT Health Science Center Police Department is interested in taking every possible measure to ensure the personal safety and security of all the HSC personnel and property. Crime prevention efforts cannot be successful without the active involvement and cooperation of all the campus population. As you know, Police Department personnel cannot be everywhere at once.
The University Police Department urges all faculty, staff, students, and visitors to take an active interest in the area around them, and to notify the University Police immediately about any suspicious persons or activity.
The Police Department’s Communication Center operates 24 hours/7 days a week, and can also be contacted by pressing the button on any of the emergency call boxes located throughout the campus. All of the elevators on campus are also equipped with emergency intercoms that directly connect the caller to the Communication Center.
