ID BADGES | UT Police Security Plans & Access Systems

The University Police Department is responsible for all ID badges regardless of location. The Access Control Coordinator (Teresa Cooke | 210.567.0677), reports to the Division Commander (Lieutenant Michael Bleier | 210.567.6821) and is responsible for issuing and collecting IDs, collecting fees for IDs and maintaining all records.

 

FEE SCHEDULE
  • $4 Fee for a Cosmetic change to the ID (i.e. name change because of marriage)
  • $4 Replacement fee for an abused ID (UT Police makes the determination)
  • $10 Initial fee for Students
  • $10 Replacement fee for a LOST or STOLEN ID
  • $10 Fee for Person Of Interest (POI) / $8 is refunded when returned
  • Free - Initial ID for Faculty & Staff

 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
  • Question: Can I have more than one (1) ID Badge?
  • Answer: No - You are only authorized one (1) ID regardless of how many positions you hold.
  • Question: How many credentials may I have on my ID Badge?
  • Answer: Per HOP 8.7.10 - Standard acronyms indicating licensure, registration, certification, or doctoral degree required by the employee’s position or pertinent to the work performed (e.g.; CPA, CR, DDS, DVM, LVN, MD, MSW, MT (ASCP), PA, PhD, RN, RPh). Due to space limitations, no more than three acronyms may be listed on an ID Card.
  • Question: What does the different colors on the ID Badges mean?
  • Answer: There are seven (7) distinct colors used for ID Cards:
    • Green - VIPs
    • Blue - UT Police
    • Orange - Faculty and Staff
    • Red - Persons of Interest
    • Brown - Students
    • Yellow - Clinical Faculty, Emeritus, Stipend-Paid, Residents
    • Gray - UT Medicine, Forensic Science, UT Other
